CrashPlan apps for mobile devices

General notes:

  • Search for "crashplan code 42", to be sure to get the Code 42 apps and not clones.
  • Code 42 offers three CrashPlan apps: CrashPlan PROe, CrashPlan PRO, and CrashPlan.
  • Make sure to get the CrashPlan PROe app with a black/gray color theme and with an "e" after the "PRO".
    • The other two apps, blue CrashPlan PRO and green CrashPlan, are for small company backups or for home backups.


  • Login requires that your device is on MITnet. If you are off-campus, use MIT's VPN.
    • You can get [VPN for iOS] or [VPN for Android]

When you run it:

  • The CrashPlan app will ask for a Server Location.
    • Enter:
    • Your device must be on MITnet during login, or using MIT VPN.
  • The app will ask for a Username and Password
    • Enter: your MIT Kerberos username and password
