Configuring Cisco Jabber Client

  1. Download the client from http://web.mit.edu/uc/jabber and following the cues, run the installer.
When first launched, Cisco Jabber will find services and auto-configure the client using your KerberosID@mit.edu as long as you are on the MIT network (wired, wireless, or VPN). After it finds services for the first time, you will login using your KerberosID and KerberosPW.

  2. Enter your kerberos password.
The first screen shot shows the login screen users see the first time they connect using kerberosID@mit.edu; the second shows the screen users will see every time thereafter.

  3. After logging in, the Cisco Jabber panel appears with an icon list of services to the left and spaces for contacts to the right.
