Container

Definition

A term used in the context of Microsoft Windows Domains and Group Policy. Containers hold groups of items to which policies and settings can be applied remotely. Such items can be users, computers, and so on. With MIT's central windows domain, win.mit.edu, containers are most often used to group computers together to which the same software or policies need to be applied.
